Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique spent much of his press duties answering questions about the future of Kylian Mbappe, and if there was one silver lining to having him move to Real Madrid for the Asturian, it might have been the absence of that. It is fair to say he was not impressed when he was asked about the Real Madrid forward on Thursday.
It was put to Luis Enrique that PSG might miss the world-class forward, and he was asked if he was able to catch Mbappe’s debut against Atalanta on Wednesday night. It is fair to say he was not particularly impressed.
“How annoying are the Spanish, my God. My God. Are you still here? Pfft.”
“Until when will you, do you live here? Did you enjoy the Olympic games? Ah well, ok. The truth is I didn’t think you would keep asking me about Kylian eh. But, I don’t have anything to hide either. I’ve always loved him, he’s always been a unique and exceptional player and person.”
“I had the chance to coach him and also his brother, Ethan, to whom I send my greetings. And I wish him the best, wherever he goes, and in the competitions in which Real Madrid compete against us, I hope they lose.”
Mbappe has already secured his first title at Real Madrid, scoring in their 2-0 win over Atalanta. ‘Lucho’ has had a strained relationship with the Spanish media for some time, and that is showing no sign of improving in the near future.
