Traffic Radio Partners Decaux As Akanle Rates LATIS High

The General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Tayo Akanle, has affirmed the commitment of the Station to leverage on  the Lagos Traffic Information System (LATIS) towards disseminating data-driven traffic information to Lagosians. 

Mr. Akanle, who stated this while receiving the Country Manager, JC Decaux Nigeria Outdoor Advertising Limited, Omoniyi Dada, during a courtesy call to his office, stressed the importance of the connection between technology adding value service delivery to Lagosians as the inspiration behind this imminent partnership. 

He further stated that the technologically driven data emanating from the robust infrastructure of the company will play a major role in this new partnership, pointing to the fact that it also aligns with the vision of the station, just as its overall benefits to Lagosians cannot be overemphasised. 

The conversation, which also revolved around achieving mutually beneficial results, centred on exploring new paths in the quest to add value to Lagosians, pointing to the comparative advantage of the station and company.  

Speaking earlier, the Country Manager, Omoniyi Dada, stated that the partnership is long overdue, given the uniqueness of the Station in providing traffic information to Lagosians, just as he mentioned that the diverse benefits the partnership will bring forth to people, even beyond Lagos State cannot be overestimated. 

He stressed that the Lagos State Government and its agencies have greatly benefited from the rich data and technology available to make informed decisions concerning the State’s transport strategy, adding that the company is an innovator that supported Mr. Governor’s visions of urban development as encapsulated in the #Greater Lagos vision.

Mr. Dada further stressed that with its infrastructure, the company could provide periodic vehicular counts, which entail cars, buses, motorcycles, trucks, and gender-based pedestrian counts, amongst others.
