Ahead of the Ogun State House of Assembly election, Chief (Hon.) Abayomi Tella, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Ado-Odo/Igbesa State Constituency, on Tuesday night engaged hundreds of youths of Agbara town, urging them to be peaceful before, during and after the 2023 general elections.
The former Ado-Odo/Ota chairman met the youths of the ancient town on Tuesday night during the annual Top1 Palace jamz.
Tella, the Oluomo of the Agbara kingdom, who was a former President of the Agbara Youths Forum for over a decade was at the event after his campaign train returned from rallies in Ado/Odo and its environs to celebrate the occasion with the youths.
While addressing the youths, Tella urged them to remain united as one big family irrespective of their political affiliations and the outcome of the election. “Agbara as a community should remain topmost on our minds.”
“Don’t make yourself available as evil tools for some desperate politicians who only remember you and use you when it’s time to vote but abandon you immediately after elections,” he cautioned the youths.
He also urged politicians in the community not to wait until the election period before engaging the youths adding that the youths are not to be neglected regardless of individual interests.
Speaking further, Tella called on all Agbara indigenes that are presently serving in the state government to help in the human and physical development of the town.
“I urge all sons and daughters of our town who are currently serving in different levels of government in the state to ensure they make use of their respective offices to contribute to both the human and physical development of Agbara. As a reminder, we all should know that all positions or offices in whatever way we got there are temporary because nothing lasts forever,” he said.
