The Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended its eight-month strike, Thepagenews can authoritatively confirm.
Though the union is yet to make an official pronouncement, our correspondent gathered that the decision was taken at the end of the National Executive Council meeting which was held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja.
Speaking with Thepagenews Editor via Telephone, the association president, Emmanuel Osodeke confirmed the development.
He also promised to send an official circular as soon as it’s ready.
It will be recalled that the academic union embarked on strike action on Monday, February 14, 2022 to protest the non-implementation of the 2009 Memorandum of Understanding reached with it by the Federal Government.
