In the build up to the gubernatorial election in Ondo State, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP)Deputy Governorship Candidate Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso popularly known as “Fessywest” on Friday met with the leaders of the PDP in Ile-Oluji, even as he received hundreds of the All Progressives Congress (APC’) members in the community, who decamped to the PDP.
It was a beehive of activities for the PDP gubernatorial running mate, who is also a serving member of the Federal House of Representatives, Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State as he met with different interests in Ile -Oluji during his visit.
One of the meetings was with Stakeholders in the town, held at the residence of the immediate past Senator of Ondo South Senatorial District, Otunba Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo, and also attended by other prominent leaders of the party which includes; Ch. John Adebawore “Agbakawodi”, Ch. Henry Akinsuroju, former member, Ondo State House of Assembly, the party Local Government Chairman, Prophet Elvis Akinfiresoye, Hon. Dr. Abiodun Henry Akintomide “Ibu Owo”, Hon. Mrs. Lovelyn Yemi-Ese, Hon. Leke Akinbinu, Hon. Remi Awokiyesi, former councilors, former political appointees, the party Ex-Officials, the party Local Government Executives, all ward Chairmen and other leaders across the wards.
In the brief but more strategic meeting, the leaders of the party assured the candidate of their unity which underscores their readiness for the November 16 2024 poll.
Otunba Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo confirmed that there is no dichotomy in the party and that they are ready to deliver as expected. He said “there is no iota of dichotomy among us, we have no place to go, PDP is our party and we shall all ensure its victory”.
Hon. Festus Akingbaso appreciates the gestures received from the party leaders, he acknowledged the support by individuals towards the Gubernatorial Election, he also promised on behalf of the party’s Guber Candidate, His Excellency Hon. Agboola Alfred Ajayi , that the duo will not disappoint the party, and the people of Ondo State at large.
“Fessywest” said the party has done the best by picking “Agbo” as its candidate stating that “Agbo” is a grassroot politician who is never an accidental politician or Nigeria-abroad politician.
He thus, beseeched the leaders to continue in the good work and assured them that all necessary support from the parts of the candidates shall be provided from time to time.
While also speaking at a meeting while on a consultative visit to members of the Union of Tipper and Quarry Employers, Ile-Oluji Branch, the federal lawmaker described the ruling party as a party that has no positive agenda for the masses, rather they have inflicted poverty, inflation and anti people policies on the people of Ondo State.
He boasts of his Excellent administrative skills and his success at the business realm, with the animated experience of his principal, Ajayi which he assured, will “definitely make life bearable for the people of the state if elected in the forthcoming Guber Election”.
On behalf of the members of the Union, Mr. Akinbolusire confirmed that the members of the PDP in Ile-Oluji have been friendly to the people, sighting the long time annual gift to the widows by “Ibu Owo”. He wished the party success at the poll and appealed that the party should not forget the people of the state.
About 100 members of the ruling party, APC who will be officially received into the party at a later date,were presented to the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate and he assured them of equal rights as they will be joining the party.
