The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS) has urged the Inspector-General of Police to order the immediate arrest of an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), “for attempting to set Ondo State on fire through treasonable comments”.
The group in a statement by its Convener, Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, popularly known as Carry Go, said for Oke to have declared in the media that ‘there is no governor in Ondo State, amounted to treason, and as such ought to be arrested and prosecuted to deter other such politicians.
In the statement issued on Thursday through the LACO-FS State Director of Information, Mr. Kayode Fasua, Okeyomi expressed disappointment in Oke, a Senior Advocate, to say that a constitutionally recognised governor in Ondo State does not exist.
“For Olusola Oke, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a man in his late 60s to say there is no governor in Ondo State, reeks of self-imposed illiteracy and a deliberate attempt to set Ondo State on fire, all in a bid to get the APC governorship ticket, by fire, by force.
“Indeed, the Inspector-General of Police should have by now ordered Oke’s arrest and subject him to thorough interrogation and then prosecute him in court, apparently for the clear reason that his utterances are treasonable.
“However, since Oke who claims to be a SAN does not operate with that clout, he should be taken to the classroom and tutored that Mr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa is the Governor of Ondo State.
“Again, Oke should be made to write in his lesson note, that Aiyedatiwa as Acting Governor of Ondo State, December last year, became the Governor, following the death of his boss, former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), as constitutionally provided.
“Besides, he should be made to realise that when Akeredolu was elected governor in November 2020, Aiyedatiwa was equally elected deputy governor, in a joint ticket,” Okeyomi explained.
Also, the LACO-FS boss has described another statement credited to the late former Governor Akeredolu’s media aide, Mr. Richard Olatunde, that his late boss should be allowed to rest in his grave, as idle, and an attempt to seek undue relevance.
Olatunde had condemned Governor Aiyedatiwa’s comment that Akeredolu anointed him (Aiyedatiwa) as the next Ondo Governor.
“If Aiyedatiwa had not told the people of what transpired between him and his late former boss, how would the people have known the level of closeness between the two of them?,” Okeyomi wondered.
He thus advised Olatunde “to get busy with his chore, and stop crying wolf where there is none.”
