Ondo ’24: Agbo Vows To Restore State’s Lost Glory.

Former deputy governor in Ondo state and People’s Democratic Party’s aspirant in the approaching November 2024 gubernatorial election, Hon. Agboola Ajayi,  has vowed to restore  the lost glory of the state, given the opportunity  to serve as the next governor.

The experienced politician and astute administrator made the vow on Wednesday, in a statement issued and signed by his campaign organisation’s spokesperson, Samuel Ogunmusi. 

According to the former  Reps member,  ” our state before now was the envy of all.

” It’s on record that government of other states have sent teams to spend weeks here to understudy some of our of enviable programmes and projects

” At a point in the life of our dear state, it was a global point of encouraging and image boosting references in healthcare delivery, education, infrastructure, rural and urban development.

” I can vividly recollect when foreigners would troop here in droves to be part of our tourism programs like mountain  climbing among others, even as our people from the hinterland would come to the Capital city to savour the fun of the different tourism enabled  amusement provisions like the water fountains that made the state Capital tourists destinations.

” Today, those bragging points have become history with no hope of restoration on sight” he lamented.

Submitting that with a PDP government spearheaded by him in place, Agbo, who aims to clinch his party’s ticket to contest the November election said he won’t assume office unprepared, adding that he already has a master plan of how the state could be revamped and  the lives of  it’s citizens made better.

The legal mind further informed  that “it is obvious that power needs to change hands in the state before the citizens can begin to feel the presence of government and enjoy the true dividend of democracy and that change, the PDP will effect by the grace of God” 

Registering his optimism to pick the PDP ticket, Agbo said ” since we have a focus and armed with  the technical know-how of governance, we will hit the ground running and introduce some innovations that will make our state become a good point of reference, unlike what we are witnessing today”.

Recall that the PDP aspirant,few days ago,held a media parley, where he announced his intention to contest the gubernatorial election.

At the parley, Agbo said he 

is the most experienced among the aspirants of the PDP having served as Chairman of local government, House of Representatives member and Deputy Governor .

Agboola  said he has the capacity and experience to keep ‘everybody busy’ if elected as governor in the State.

A trained lawyer, Agboola  said he “understands how Ondo State can be governed and everybody will be happy. I understand what we need to revive the economy of this state.”  he also revealed.
