Late Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu’s former deputy, Barrister Agboola Ajayi, will anytime from now announce his intention to contest the governorship election in the state, slated for November this year, ThePageNews has learnt.

Agboola, according to our source, will contest on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP).

It was further learnt that some interests within  his Ondo South district have concluded plans to purchase the PDP form for the former House of Reps member to contest in the PDP primary election due to hold soon.

Agbo, as he is fondly called, the source  said, has concluded consultations with party members, his consistuency and some opinion moulders in the state concerning his ambition.

It was reliably gathered that the feedback from the consultations carried out so far have  been encouraging, hence , the decision to go all out.

According to the source, Agbo’s consultation was across party lines and the assurances of support, even from the very unlikely quarters have fired his desire the more.

” I can tell you for free that Agbo will be on the ballot come November and he will be contesting on the platform of the PDP” the source said.

Another source, while confirming  the move, also claimed some of the state opinion moulders Agbo consulted,  have started their private consultations on his behalf. The source said, she was surprised  a particular leader in  Ondo Central could be as passionate about the Agbo agenda as she witnessed few days ago, when she overheard the giant political figure selling Agbo to one of his peers.

The source said “the first step for Agbo is to win the Party’s ticket   and with the consultations and preparations made so far, I don’t see anything stopping him from picking the ticket, especially, if the party genuinely desires to occupy the Alagbaka government house next year”
