The Executive Members and all the sons and daughters of Osun state living in Ghana have joined other mourners to express their deep sympathy on the sudden demise of Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja whose death occurred recently.
In a statement signed by Khalliq Ademola Amao, P.R.O, Osun State Indigenes in Ghana, the group expressed it sadness to the government and people of Osun State over the loss while it called on Osun government to immortalise the fallen General by naming a road after him. “We commend the governor and people of our state for the expression of the pain exhibit when the death was announced.
We salute Our Governor for the love he has demonstrated, yet, we can do more by immortalising his name.
The President of the Osun indigenes in Ghana, Hon. Ayokanmi Osuntayo Ogunremi declared moment of respect for the late General at the last meeting of the group saying, that, Osun had lost a great hero and a true lover of his country.
‘Osun has produced great men in the Nigeria Army, some are still alive and we pray that God will preserve them. We still need their contributions for the development of our state.
He specifically said that General Lagbaja had distinguished himself as a well breed military. The group used the meeting to pray for the family members of the late Soldier, saying that God will encourage them to bear the irreparable loss. The group concluded by also commending the President of the Country, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (GCFR) and the presidency for ordering that the Flag of Nigeria be half lowered across the country and outside as respect for the late COAS.
