Ondo Poll: What Is Aiyedatiwa’s Bragging Right

By Ayomide Mubarak

In a matter of months, the people of Ondo state will once again file out to elect a Governor,  unlike the previous exercises in the state, the stakes are higher this time.

If the mood, the submissions  of the multitudes that have decamped from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) so far, the rate of hardship and the retrogressive movement of the state’s vehicle are anything to go by, it must henceforth, Ondo State must  be governed by one with the bragging right of service delivery and quality administrative accomplishments this time around .

At the juncture Ondo state is presently, allowing  a trial and error pilot continue to direct the affairs of the state, will predictably continue to bring only one result, disaster. The people have had enough of this disastrous leadership and it’s time for a real change.

Ondo state can’t afford another four years of servitude, where it’s choices of food, education, Agriculture, infrastructural benefits and general well being, are limited to the uninspiring regime of the APC.

The effect of the failure of the state’s pilot is what has led to the agonizing gnashing of teeths by the people of the state at the moment , but there must be a solution.

With the understanding that the state must move from it’s famine state to surplus, hence, the need to scrutinize the credentials of those who have offered to lead the state from Feb 2025.

The two major contenders, being the incumbent Governor , Lucky Aiyedatiwa, under whose watch the state’s affairs have almost grinded to a halt and His Excellency, Agboola Ajayi, who got his party’s  ticket based on his proven years of democratic service delivery..

The APC candidate ,Aiyedatiwa is running  a joint ticket with Oluyide Adelami who has no record of a visible achievement in the state in his long years as Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly.  Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) on the other  hand, is also running with an equally service oriented and results guaranteed mate, Festus Akingbaso (Fessywest)  a grassroot politician , philanthropy  and current member of the House of Representatives.

Why has Ajayi/ Akingbaso  ticket suddenly become the hope of the Ondo people ahead of the November 16 election? What makes this ticket the preferred, over the Incumbent the people are eager to change, it boils down to antecedents.

In this first chapter of what is intended to be a series, Agboola Ajayi’s records of service deliveries will be amplified, for naysayers to know why Ajayi is the name on every lips in the state today.

In the same vein, the APC candidate, Aiyedatiwa is hereby challenged, to also publish his records of achievements and that of Adelami his deputy,  as  a politician ,  administrators and service provider, to warrant their election in November.

While hoping Aiyedatiwa will respond to the challenge immediately, below are the first in the series of Ajayi’s achievements, that qualify him to earn the people’s votes on November 16:
