Candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, in the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo state, H E, Agboola Ajayi, arrived Nigeria on Tuesday, following his completion of a 7 -day campaign visit to the United Kingdom.
The PDP candidate left Nigeria for the United Kingdom, Monday last week with Dr Tayo Dairo, the Chairman of the Ondo PDP Elders Council and others .
During the visit , Ajayi was hosted to an all embracing Zoom meeting which also accommodated many Ondo state indigenes in America and some parts of Europe. He was also a guest at a meeting organised in his honour , by Ondo State indigenes last Sunday in London.
The succesfull visit afforded the candidate to present his blueprint to the diaspora citizens for scrutiny. It also enabled them make their demands of the gubernatorial hopeful, regarding their expectations from his goverment.
The blueprint enumerated plans of the candidate to revive the State’s economy, provide qualitative education, foolproof security, sports and youth development including empowerment programs, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the UK audience before the departure of the PDP Candidate from London , Gbenga Akinmoyo said they are elated by what he described as
” a robust, sincere and comprehensive rescue blueprint” of the gubernatorial hopeful .
The Ondo Stare UK indigenes, registered their optimism regarding the candidate’s capability, “to redirect the vehicle of the State back to a focused path from where it has since veered off because of the failure of the ruling party to provide leadership”
Acknowledging the former deputy Governor’s understanding of the state’s precarious situation, the UK audience promised to mobilize fully to ensure his success in the scheduled election.
Also declaring support for the candidacy of the PDP candidate, Prof Gold Emmanuel, Senior Special Assistant to former Vice President , Atiku Abubakar, said she is really pleased with what the PDP candidate is bringing to the table, even as another participant, Awoyo Damilola Desmond, registered his happiness with what he said the PDP candidate is bringing to the table and promised his readiness to support him with his people all the way”
Mrs Omolola Williams who joined from the United States, said she is ready to join hands with the PDP Candidate, come down to Ondo State from her base so as to make sure that the PDP gets to Alagbaka by next year, because of what she described as the life changing programmes the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate is bringing to Ondo State.
