Agbo Ajayi: Nov’ Election, PDP’s Opportunity To Redirect Ondo State

Ahead of the November 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo state,the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate, H.E. Agboola Alfred Ajayi has pointed out  the importance of the election, which he described as a defining moment  for the party to chart a new  course for  the state.

The former deputy governor made the submission in his acceptance speech, after receiving the Certificate of Return from his party on Tuesday at the PDP national secretariat, Wadata Palaza, Abuja.

Registering his gratitude for the honor and privilege of his election as the party’s flag bearer, Ajayi said ” it is truly humbling and I accept the responsibility and promise  to carry out  works towards  winning the upcoming election with utmost  dedication” 

The election he stressed, presents the PDP with a unique opportunity to bring about real and sustainable development for the people of the state, adding that the PDP as the largest political party in Africa  is positioned to lead the transformational I change.

He said the election ” is all about all of us coming together to chat a new course for Ondo  state and  enhancing our collective vision  and aspirations for  a better, more prosperous future”.

Further,he said the challenge   the state is facing  from poverty, to unemployment, insecurity and economic hardship require urgent and decisive action, adding that party members can not afford to dwell on past mistakes or divisive rhetoric, instead, they should focus  on coming  together to provide solutions that give priority to the well being of the people and the communities .

Insisting that the election can not be about him alone, the former lawmaker urged party members to campaign with integrity and focus on issues that  matter most to  people of the state, maintaining that ” our vision for Ondo State is one of growth, opportunity and equity. We envision a state where healthcare is affordable and accessible and where infrastructure supports economic growth and connectivity”

Pouring  encomiums on the party leadership ,stakeholders, delegates and the Chairman of the Primary election Committee, the deputy governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo and his team, for ensuring a smooth and transparent primary election,Ajayi declared his commitment, to working tirelessly in collaboration with all stakeholders and the good people of Ondo State to deliver on the party promises and bring about positive change.

Concluding, Ajayi registered that he believes in the power of unity, dialogue and inclusivity to overcome obstacles and forge a path towards progress.
