Wale Akinterinwa, the frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo state, has expressed sadness over the death of the chairman Ekiti state chapter of the APC, Paul Omotoso.

Akinterinwa, who described Omotoso’s death as a shock, said the late APC leader was a true and dedicated democrat who contributed in a great way to the success of the party in Ekiti State.

In a statement, signed by Segun Ajiboye, spokesman for Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation, Akinterinwa commiserated with Governor Biodun Oyebanji, members of the APC in the state and the family of the deceased.

Akinterinwa lauded the contributions of the deceased to the development of  the tenets of democracy, particularly his untiring work and advocacy towards ensuring that the people enjoy the benefits of democracy.

“I am saddened by the death of the chairman of Ekiti APC. He was a dedicated and committed demorat, a strong party man and an advocate of popular programmes that aim to assist the people and the less-privileged.”

“His untiring and enduring works to the development of democracy speaks volume about his commitment to the people and their wellbeing.

“His death is a great loss of a dependable leader, political strategist and asset to the party, the state and the nation at large.”

While noting that the late Omotoso would be ‘sorely missed’ for his robust contribution to the political development of the state, Akinterinwa prays that God will grant him eternal rest and comfort his family for the irreparable loss.
