AJUMN: New Lagos Exco Woo Ayo Balogun, Others

The leadership  of the  Lagos state chapter of the Association of Juju Musicians  have canvassed for the support  of influential female Juju musician, Lady Ayo Balogun and Titi Oguntoyinbo among others, insisting that their support  will be  needed to guarantee the progress of the state chapter of the Juju body.

Stressing the importance of the personalities on the growth of the body, the Vice chairman of the Lagos chapter, Olushola Taiwo aka Shola Vibrator said The Chairperson  of National  AJUMN, Queen  Ayo Balogun is a mother with great managerial skill, adding that her experience and exposure will no doubt robb on the local AJUMN positively, even as she mentioned that Oguntoyinbo, who is also an Executive of the National body is an accomplished administrator whose track record can not be overlooked.

Pleading with the National  Chairperson, Balogun, to find time within her busy schedule to “factor  us into your program” Vibrator said her chapter of the body “will from time to time knock  on your door for direction and advise which I am sure you will be willing to render being the good mother and leader that you are”

Vibrator also mentioned her determination to work for the progress of the union, especially in the  coordination of the active participation of female artists  to make things work better for the union.

Before now, the  Chairman of the Lagos body,  Oluwasegun Sewanu  had established  the leadership’s determination to take the musical union to the next level.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the newly elected AJUMN Chairman, in company with executive members, of the Lagos State chapter, said the election that brought them into office came up last year in August, and all necessary plans are in place to take off as the new year begins. 

The Chairman appreciated the National Chairperson and the BOT, which include among others, King Sunny Ade, Commander Ebenezer Obey, Sir Shina Peters and Champion Kunle Opio,  for their unflinching support and progress of the association. 

He affirmed that the new Exco is ready to work, adding that ” we have got good plans to make the lives of our members better and to also sustain the good legacies our forebears in the industry have laid down

“Part of our plans as the year begins is to organize/workshop for our members on the need to improve them in our trade. We intend to engage professionals to talk to us so that we can benefit from their vast experiences.” 

Concerned about the welfare of the aged members of the body, the chairman said plans are being made, to consistently cater for “the aged among us, those who have paid their dues and thus made it possible  for  Juju music to become a force to reckon with. We need to cater for the aged among us, and this is part of the responsibilities this exco has taken upon itself” the chairman posited
