WE WILL FURTHER OPEN UP OGUN FOR INVESTMENTS- COMMISSIONER ASSURES

The Ogun State Government has pledged to further open up the State for business opportunities by putting all machineries in motion to attract more investors.

This assurance was given by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela while fielding questions from newsmen in Abeokuta.

Sofela who was newly sworn-in by Governor Dapo Abiodun alongside 19 others, said that the present administration would consolidate its position as the industrial capital of Nigeria, pointing out that efforts would be put in place to make Ogun the preferred investors destination.

He said the State would be committed to improving the ease of doing business index, noting that reforms that will enhance business activities would be executed.

The Commissioner said the government would be committed to its promises of transforming the business environment and processes from initiation in terms of business registration, obtaining construction permits, getting land titles for properties, to ensuring that building permits for construction works are facilitated at reduced time.

According to him, “we will create a more enabling environment that would attract investors while existing businesses would improve their capacities.”

“We will work with the organised private sector and all stakeholders to know their areas of need and work on the solution.

“We will execute reforms that will make ease of doing business more seamless to help businesses on ground, increase their capacities and to be more productive and attract new ones,” he said.
