The Ogun State chapter of People Democratic Party (PDP) has assured the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun that no amount of induced endorsement by the traditional rulers will save him from defeat in coming 2023 general elections.
This was revealed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Publicity Secretary of the Party, Akinloye Bankole in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.
The party also appeals to citizens and the motorists in Ogun State who suffered the disruption of vehicular movements and businesses on Tuesday 8th of November, 2022 during the Mega walk for Tinubu/Shettima that was organized by Ogun State All Progressive Congress (APC).
“It is on reliable authority that, apart from truncating free flow of traffic yesterday, poor and defenceless traders at the ever busy Kuto market tasted the bitter side of a government who intentionally weaponised a deceitful one million man march against the people; a whole lot of goods and wares were vandalized and carted away during the unnecessary show of public intimidation as led by a Governor who had earlier swore to defend the people. A clear demonstration of poor organisation and management team.
“Out of unbridled desperation, this is the same man who has been going from one royal father to another, cap in hand, seeking for their royal blessings and endorsements for an unmerited second term bid. This, on its own, is a confirmation that the government has lost face with the citizens, hence the desperate resort to procuring royal endorsements and undeserved validations amidst obvious public rejection,” the statement stated.
“As a major stakeholder in Ogun project, our great party will like to remind Prince Dapo Abiodun that instead of busying himself with needless blockage of main roads on a working Tuesday, thereby shutting down businesses and disrupting the free flow of traffic in Abeokuta, the State Capital, the Governor should give priority attention to his ongoing moral burden of telling the members of the public the true identity of the notorious Shawn Michael Davis,” the statement added.
“For PDP, Ogun State affairs by all standards, would not be presided over by dubious characters whose corporate identities are questionably shrouded in recorded forgeries, pejury and other forms of criminality.
“Again, we dare to say that no amount of induced endorsements, either from our innocent and revered Royal institutions or religious cum professional bodies would save the Governor and his rudderless APC from incurring the wrath of the people of Ogun State at the polls comes 2023.
The people will surely speak with their votes by sending Dapo Abiodun out of office. Tuesday’s walk of shame, although poorly attended by rented and forced louts by transport associations and unions, is another clear testimony that the people have manifestly disassociated themselves from all agonies that APC represents,” the statement concluded.
