Tension In Ekiti As Fayemi’s Political Appointees Plan Mass Protest

There is palpable tension in Ado- Ekiti, the  Ekiti state capital, as some  political appointees of the outgoing Governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi, have concluded plans to embark on a mass protest following the non payment of thier furniture allowance.

According to information gathered by  ThePageNews, those agitating for the payment are Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Personal Assistants among others.

The aggrieved officials, according to a whatzap message (attached) circulated within the affected members, summoned a meeting with themselves for Friday.

The meeting is meant to perfect their action plan, since according to them, the  Fayemi government will officially expire on Sunday, the 16th of October, hence, the need for their immediate action. Below is the whatzap message by the aggrieved officials:

*Fayemi’s SSAs, SAs, PAs, others set to protest over non-payment of furniture allowance*

*NOTICE OF MEETING*

This is to inform all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants appointed in 2018/2019 who are not beneficiaries of Government Cars are to converge infront of Tantalizer  building tomorrow for a meeting to begin a protest for the payment of our furniture allowances as approved by Gov. Fayemi.

 It has been reliably gathered that Akin Oyebode, the Commissioner for finance has diverted the approved money to pay contractors where he will be rewarded financially. 

The time to act is now because the administration winds down on Sunday 16th October, 2022.
