The Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Adeola Olamilekan has been awarded the national honour in the rank of “Commander of the Order of Niger”, CON, by President Mohammadu Buhari.
This was contained in a letter conveying the approval of the President with Ref. No. FMSDIGA/NHA/001/T/85 dated 16th September, 2022 and signed by Senator George Akume, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Government Affairs.
The letter stated that the conferment ceremony for the award is fixed for Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
The chairman, Senate Committee on Finance who is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Fellow of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, is a parliamentarian that had served and is still serving the nation for over 19 years as a two- term state legislator, a one term member of the Federal House of Representatives and a ranking Senator in serving out his second term.
Senator Adeola who is arguably a foremost expert in public finance in Nigeria with many awards to his name was recently recognized by his people in Yewaland, Ogun State with the prestigious traditional title of “Aremo of Yewaland” by the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and Olu Of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle and 49 other royal fathers of Yewaland.
