The Federal High Court Sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital has on Monday 26th of September, 2022 ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to immediately forward the name of Hon. Olanrewaju Solomon Enilolobo (OSE) to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for recognition as the duly elected candidate of the PDP for Abeokuta South Constituency 1, House of Assembly position ahead of the 2023 poll.
Enilolobo, who had won the PDP House of Assembly primaries for Abeokuta South Constituency 1 in May 2022 was denied his victory at the primary election by some powerful elements within the Ogun State PDP when his name was substituted and not forwarded to INEC as the flag bearer of the party.With this judgment, the party has now been mandated to do the needful as Enilolobo won the primary election and is validly nominated by the party.
Enilolobo, while commenting on his victory at the court, said: “This is a welcome development, one that I was sure was going to happen because you can’t build something on nothing. I knew that Justice would prevail and no matter how long lies may endure, the truth will eventually catch up with it.“This is the beginning of more positive news to come in the PDP family in Ogun State going forward and ahead of the kickoff of the 2023 election campaign”
