Jurgen Klopp has reportedly ruled Erik ten Hag out of the running to replace Marco Rose at RB Leipzig.
Erik ten Hag is without a job since being sacked by Manchester United in October 2024.
He has been linked with the managerial role at RB Leipzig, however, Sky Sports reports that Red Bull’s head of global football and former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ruled out appointing the Dutchman.
RB Leipzig, who are currently sixth in the Bundesliga, are likely to part ways with manager Marco Rose at the end of the 2024/25 campaign. Klopp has started to look for Rose’s replacement and came across Ten Hag’s name in the process, but he chose to reject the ex-United boss.
The Sky Sports report adds that the ex-Reds manager has prepared a shortlist of three German-speaking managers, including Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness, Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner and former Benfica head coach Roger Schmidt.
Klopp and Ten Hag faced each other on seven occasions during their time in England, out of which Liverpool won three times and the Red Devils won twice. Two games ended in a draw.
