The Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the scheduled gubernatorial election in Ondo State, H E, Agboola Ajayi, has described the display of camaraderie, by PDP members in the Edo state capital, Benin City on Saturday, as an indication of a new dawn for the party.
The Garrick Memorial Grammar school field , along Ekenwa road, Benin, was full to capacity as PDP bigwigs across the country stormed the Edo state capital, for the final rally of the PDP campaign, ahead of the September 21, gubernatorial election in the state.
The campaign grand finale rally was attended by the Ondo state PDP candidate, H E Agboola Ajayi and his running mate, Hon Festus Akingbaso. Their election is billed for November 16, 2024 in Ondo State.

Ondo PDP Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Agboola Ajayi, while fielding questions from news hounds at the Benin event, said what played out at the rally arena, was indicative of the resolve of the PDP, to take up the challenge of restoring the glory of Nigeria.
He said ” the mood in the country today, is that the PDP is the only messiah the people can look up to, because of its antecedent of a capable manager of people, economy and Country .
” With the show of camaraderie displayed here today, it’s obvious that the party is ready to take up the challenge to rescue Nigeria from her current handlers. I can’t remember the last time the party supported a cause like this Edo election with its full strength as we have seen here today” Ajayi said .
The event was graced by the very core of the PDP leadership in Nigeria led by the former Vice President and former Presidential Candidate of the party in the last presidential election in Nigeria , H E Atiku Abubakar as well as Chairman of PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, who ed 11 other Governors to the grand finale rally.
The Governors included,
Pastor Eno Umo (Akwa Ibom State), Sim Fubara(Rivers State),
Peter Mbah (Enugu State), Agbu Kefas (Taraba State),Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa State),Governor Godwin Obaseki (Edo State), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau State), Ademola Adeleke (Osun State), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa State),Peter Mbah (Enugu State), and Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.
The Governors joined the Acting National Chairman, Dr. Iliya Damagum who led all members of the National Working Committee to the event , and the Edo State PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo and his Deputy Governorship Candidate to rally support for the party ahead of the Saturday September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election in the state.
This historic gathering of PDP governors apart from all members of the party elected into the National Assembly who were present at the rally also underscores the party’s commitment to unity and its determination to win the upcoming election in Edo State against an APC government the PDP says, has not only given Nigeria citizens dark future and poverty but also further sunk the economy of Nigeria in the mud.
