Ahead of the People’s Democratic Party’s Primary election towards the November gubernatorial election in Ondo state, leading aspirant in the party, H.E Agboola Ajayi has warned of the consequence of picking a wrong candidate.
He said people of the state have become hopeless and helpless under the APC government and thus, eagerly waiting for a PDP government to rescue them.
The former Deputy governor who is currently on a campaign tour of the state, while addressing party supporters in Akure on Friday said his choice as the candidate of the PDP in the approaching election will not only address the problems of the people but will also populate the party.
According to the former House of Representatives member, he has the “capacity
experience , contacts and ability to pull more experience politicians into Ondo PDP so that our gubernatorial project can see the light of day”
Pleading for sincerity and undiluted unity among Party members across levels, Ajayi volunteered that “people outside are waiting for the PDP to come and bail them out of the present hardship in Ondo State”
Insisting that ” we can not afford to fail them” Ajayi submitted that “we must come together as one , let’s forget about the past in the interest of good governance in Ondo State”
Registering his capacity for the task ahead, Ajayi mentioned his readiness to lift PDP and pilot the affairs of Ondo State as governor. He called on other party members not to trivialize the issue of unity within the party, because in his view, “we must bring back the good old days to Ondo State”.
Recall that the aspirant’s campaign train has among other locations, been to Owo and Ose local government areas of the state.
A vote of confidence was passed on the aspirant in Owo where he was endorsed as the party’s candidate, by the Asiwaju of Owo land, Otunba Fasawe.
While endorsing Agboola Ajayi, Fasawe registered his preference for his choice as “the best not only to deliver for the PDP, but to also lead the state aright”.
